Asecodes quercicola Ashmead (1888).

Diagnosis

Clypeus protruding; temples swollen; notauli distinct and smooth; with a hole between midlobe of mesoscutum and scutellum; scutellum with median part smooth and shiny, sides and hind part with strong reticulation, with elongate meshes on the sides, isodiametric on hind part; posterior margin of dorsellum evenly rounded; propodeum with distinct submedian carinae, strongly diverging posteriorly; petiole 0.7X as long as wide in female, as long as wide in male; first gastral tergite reticulate in posterior 2/3, meshes isodiametric.

Canada, Costa Rica, USA.

Biology

From Cynipidae galls of Amphibolips quercus and Besbicus mirabilis, through their tineid inquilines (Peck 1985); unidentified cynipid on Quercus brenesii.
